The 8 days wildlife and primate adventure will introduce you to the top Uganda safari destinations including Murchison Falls National Park – the country’s largest park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and primate safari parks such as Kibale National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Expect to look out for countless wildlife including hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, crocodiles, tree climbing lions and primates like chimpanzees, mountain gorillas.

Detailed Itinerary of 8 Days Wildlife and Primate Adventure

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda and transfer to Entebbe.

Pick up from Entebbe Airport and transfer to your hotel in Entebbe for overnight stay. This is a short distance, about 10 minutes drive from Entebbe International Airport to the hotel.

Overnight:

Day 2: Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park

Get an early morning cup of tea or coffee, before being transferred to Murchison Falls National Park, a 3,840 sqkm extensive Uganda safari park located in the northwestern side of the country.

En-route to the park, there will be a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Tracking rhinos takes about 2 hours, so afterwards you will drive up to Masindi for lunch and then connect to Murchison Falls National Park through Kichumbanyobo gate.

Day 3: Game drive and launch excursions – part of Widlife and primate adventure

Enjoy an early morning breakfast, before leaving the lodge for a 6:00am morning safari game drive in a luxurious 4×4 safari vehicle and an experienced guide. You will drive through the northern wildlife tracks which are rich with wildlife including the buffaloes, big cats, giraffes, elephants, birds and other species.

In addition, you will enjoy the breathtaking views of the vast savanna grassland with dotted palm trees.

The afternoon boat cruise runs between 2:00pm and 5:00pm, taking you on Victoria Nile which comes with excellent view of aquatic species. Your boat cruise comes with great exposure to hippos, crocodiles, birds and more, then the trek to the top of the falls.

Day 4: Journey to Kibale National Park – part of wildlife and primate adventure

A morning cup of tea or coffee and after, drive to Kibale via Hoima a journey characterized by breathtaking view of Lake Albert, the rift valley escarpments and homesteads. Settle for lunch upon arrival at your lodge.

Travel time: 5 hours

Day 5: Trek chimpanzees in Kibale and Community visit.

Rise up early to meet the park officials at Kanyanchu for briefing on rules for chimpanzee tracking rules. Have an experienced park guide to lead you through Kibale forest a home to 13 primates which include 1,500 chimpanzees, and other primates to keep an eye on. These include mangabeys, blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and baboons among others.

Exploring Kibale forest on chimp trek takes 2-4 hours and you will walk back after photography and observing closely chimpanzee behaviors. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to community visit about their daily life and you will have a chance to participate in different activities.

Day 6: To Bwindi via Ishasha – the Southern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP

You have 6 hours to drive up to Bwindi via Ishasha an area of interest for watching tree-climbing lions. En-route lunch will be enjoyed at Ishasha Wilderness Camp as you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Travel time: 6 hours

Day 7: Gorilla trek in Bwindi, Village walk.

Enjoy breakfast, after you will gather at the park offices for briefing and starts 2-6 hours of visiting a family of gorillas allocated to you. At 8:00am is when you will leave the park offices for actual tracking of mountain gorillas, and this is expected to go for 2-6 hours including a special one hour of magical encounter.

Today, we recommend that you come along with bottled water, long trousers, long-sleeved shirt, camera, hiking boots, and others.

Spend the afternoon on a community foot safari to explore the lifestyle of the people living and surrounding the park.

Day 8: Departure

Enjoy a hefty breakfast and thereafter, drive back to Entebbe with en-route lunch to be enjoyed with different stop overs, at the Equator monument and Igongo Culture Center. Driving back to Entebbe airport for your late flight.
